David Monks, Managing Director of iNovar EMEA, took part in the Opening Acceleration Across Europe May 2016 event to share with attendees the experience of being involved in the OPENAXEL Project.
OPENAXEL, an EUHub funded 30-month project, involves 8 partners (leading accelerators, institutional entities, and specialized innovation consulting firms) from 6 European countries and has huge international exposure. Their purpose is to support ICT companies in accelerating their business growth through internalisation and cross-border financing.
OPENAXEL chose iNovar as one of the 18 promising start-ups in Europe to benefit from this support. As one of those start-ups, iNovar received world class mentoring, a business trip to Silicon Valley, coaching by top rated CEOs and privileged visibility among the investors community.
Today, the results of this cooperation between start-ups, venturing, angels, mentors, global influencers and service providers was discussed and applauded at a unique event at Wayra UK. Here, high level and relevant personalities representing all the key players from organisations such as Telefonica, BT, Barclays Bank Plc, Orange, Virgin, Enel, Microsoft, Fonecta, Cisco, Deutsche Telekom, Finnair, Santander, Fortum Oyj, General Electric, AVIVA, BBVA, Visa, Merck, PwC, KPMG and so on.
During the Forum, the panel discussed their own experiences and also gave useful advice to the attendees. All agreed that OPENAXELs assistance in breaking down the barriers to large corporations was invaluable. The panel agreed that, in the main, corporate businesses have a lack of understanding about the situation of a start-up and are reluctant to engage with them and new technology. It is incredibly difficult to get a foot in the door, to understand and break into the procurement process and to draw attention to your new and exciting technology.
iNovar have designed and developed an application called 2Go™. It is a new way of connecting enterprise application systems to mobile devices that is so exciting we thought that organisations would be beating a path to our door. We needed the assistance of OPENAXEL to open some doors for us, to help us to engage and this has helped us to develop the product further.

iNovar continues to grow internationally, spreading a web of partners and promoters across Europe and the Middle East. With Version 4 of 2Go™ now available the product is ready for all markets.
