A few years ago, I was invited to meet with a large national healthcare company. The purpose of the visit was to review their security policy after a major data breach. An employee had accidentally left a device in their car and it was stolen. On that device was an application which stored the contact details for thousands of customers. It also contained HIPPA sensitive information.
By the time that I had met with them, they had already begun sending letters to all their customers. Eventually, the news made it to one of the national news chains where the breach was broadcasted on the morning news shows. The damage was extensive; as was the cost to remedy the problem.
The experience of working with the organisation over this period of time left a deep impression on me. Since then, mobile devices have become even more pervasive. I have often thought of how this whole incident would have been different if, when the device was stolen, the company could have been confident that there was no possibility of a data breach.
In developing the 2Go™ enterprise mobility solution we kept security as a top priority. A device can be stolen or lost, when it comes to the end of its life it may be reused, resold, scrapped. How can you protect the data held on a device?
Our 2Go-to answer is – “No data on the device.”
With the ability to inherit all of your security settings regardless of whether you’re using Active Directory, LDAP or Enterprise authentication methods, 2Go™ delivers secure access to only the content and functionality that you require your users to have.
For users, the mobile device screen looks and feels like their desktop, with all the custom gestures and functionality of their smart phone or tablet, and no data is downloaded to the device ensuring no breaches. Can you say that about the emails with sensitive attachments that your users are currently viewing on their devices?
We can introduce you to the power of 2Go – the only true Enterprise Applications Mobility Layer – from webinars to proof of concept. To review the product yourself for 30 days head to our Trial page.
